Conception of ICON
The concept of the ICON Foundation was conceived, with the initial idea
focusing on supporting communities in Cameroon. After the name and acronym were chosen, the founder reached out to a group of individuals, some of whom would go on to become the organization’s founding members. During this phase, the first logo was designed, and preliminary steps were taken to formalize the foundation’s launch.
Launch of ICON Cameroon
On June 01st 2021, the ICON Foundation Cameroon was officially founded. The organization began with four Founding Members and an additional ten new members. The primary objectives were charity work, the provision of basic health and education facilities, and youth empowerment, all aimed at uplifting underprivileged communities in Cameroon.

Following the restructuring, a new vision emerged to expand ICON’s impact internationally. Plans were set in motion to establish a second branch in Germany, with a focus on objectives tailored to the local community’s needs.
Launch of ICON Germany
ICON Germany was officially launched on April 01st 2023. This branch was created to address mental health awareness, eradicate mental health stigma, and promote youth empowerment within Germany, expanding ICON’s mission and reach to a new region and set of needs.
ICON Cameroon, a branch of the International Care of the Needy Foundation, is committed to uplifting and empowering underprivileged communities across Cameroon. The mission of ICON Cameroon is to provide essential support to vulnerable groups, including orphans, widows, and impoverished families, to improve their quality of life. Guided by a vision of a sustainable, selfreliant society where every individual has access to basic needs, quality education, and opportunities for a brighter future, ICON Cameroon focuses on objectives such as providing charity and basic healthcare, supporting education for disadvantaged children and empowering youth through skills development and leadership programs. To achieve these goals, ICON Cameroon has implemented practical methods, such as distributing essential resources like food, clothing, and school supplies to orphanages and low-income families. Additionally, vocational training workshops are organized for the youth to help them achieve financial independence, while scholarships are provided to children in need. Through consistent community outreach, partnerships with local organizations, and direct involvement in communities, ICON Cameroon is working towards building a stronger, more resilient society with a lasting, positive impact.
ICON Germany, a branch of the International Care of the Needy Foundation, focuses on promoting mental health awareness and empowering young people across German communities. With a commitment to addressing mental health challenges, ICON Germany aims to break down stigma and foster an environment where mental well-being is openly discussed and prioritized. Its objectives include educating the public on mental health issues, reducing the stigma surrounding them, and providing youth with empowerment and personal development opportunities. To meet these goals, ICON Germany has implemented practical methods, such as organizing mental health workshops, running awareness campaigns, and creating support groups where individuals can share experiences and seek help without judgment. Through partnerships with mental health professionals, educational institutions, and local organizations, ICON Germany is working towards building a more inclusive society where mental health and youth empowerment are valued.
